the drawings were produced on an arts residency in borsec, romania.
borsec is a former communist resort town in the carpathian mountains – historically renowned for its natural mineral springs. there are some 100+ sprawling villas, many in bad repair. with the fall of communism in 1989, the villas were released to their original owners. some have not been re-claimed, others are falling apart. Borsec has the effect of a ghost town.
